- Smoking cessation - Our pharmacists are
available to help and advise on the various methods of giving up
smoking. Camelord stocks the full range of products: patches, chewing
gum, inhalator, tablets, herbal cigarettes, herbal remedies,
artificial cigarettes, nasal sprays, lozenges.
- Health promotion literature - We stock
a number of booklets and literature. Some of these items are available
free of charge whilst others may be purchased.
- Blood pressure check - This service is
available without an appointment. There is a small charge of £2.50
for this service.
- Cholesterol testing
- This is a very useful test and is helpful in determining the level
of cholesterol in your blood stream. Controlling the cholesterol level
is extremely important for cardiac patients and patients suffering
from blood pressure. This control can be maintained by regular
testing. There is a small charge for this service.
- Diabetic screening
- To control diabetes it is very important to maintain the correct
sugar level in the body. Although sugar levels can vary during the day
depending on food intake, it is still essential to maintain a correct
level. High fluctuates could have serious consequences for body
tissues and organs. There is a small charge for this service.
- Pregnancy testing -
For women of child bearing age we strongly recommend that they ensure
that they are not pregnant before taking any medications. This service
is available for a small charge.
- Disability aids & incontinence
- We have a large range of disability aids, which are useful
for the elderly and those who are less affirmed, e.g. arthritis
sufferers, limb deformities. We also stock a large range of
incontinence pads and appliances.
- Emergency contraception
- We offer free morning-after pill advice and in cases where
there is need for a morning-after pill, this is supplied free of
charge. NOTE: this is a confidential service and is available
with the guidelines of the Manchester Health Authority. This service
is available to all women, of all ages from any area.
- Emergency dispensing
- This service is for patients who have run short of their medication
and are unable to produce an NHS prescription, or their GP is
unavailable. NOTE: this service is only available at the
discretion of the pharmacist on duty and is within the guidelines of
the RPSGB.
- Miscellaneous - We can
also help with vitamins, health products, body-building
products, hair accessories, toiletries, cosmetics & perfumes,
manicures, confectionary & soft drinks, homeopathic & herbal
remedies, first aid products, sports accessories, contact lenses,
incontinence pads, home help, disability accessories, blood pressure
kits, ostomy supplies, elastic hosiery, syringe needle exchange,
domiciliary oxygen cylinder supply, patient medical record, disposal
of unwanted medicines, counseling in asthma inhaler techniques, truss
fitting and supply, pharmaceutical advice to residential homes.
